Congratulations, Michael Young!
With the American League down to its final pitch and final out on the night of July 11 in Pittsburgh, Michael Young of the Rangers laced a Trevor Hoffman pitch for a two-run triple that won the 77th All-Star Game, 3-2. Young received the Arch Ward Trophy as the Ted Williams Most Valuable Player of the Midsummer Classic. Rangers fans recently signed an oversized All-Star MVP congratulations card at three D/FW Metroplex locations, and the Texas Rangers club also invites fans to use this blog as a way to leave your congratulatory comments here so the newest All-Star MVP can see them.

Michael, my son and I were sitting in front of two Astros fans the night you broke open the game against Roy Oswalt. When you were walking up to the plate my son turned to them and told them “it’s Michael time”. You just delivered again as we watched tonight against Jenks and the Chisox. Despite the spectaclar successes in these high profile situations you remain humble and willing to share credit with your coaches and team mates. What a great example for young fans like my son. i am a born-n-bred fan. i bleed the game, but when we went through that rough patch right before the break, i almost lost all confidance in the game. but you winning the MVP just made any doubt in my mind leave. you have resored my faith in the sport and the team. that is something no one else had been able to do. thank you for that, and good luck in the second half.

What can one say that hasn’t been said? You’re one of MLB’s very best — on and off the field. You don’t talk 70 and shoot 90 in golfing terms; you just go out and make your statement with lumber, leather, and obvious attitude.

Michael, You are a great player and I loved to watch you play. I have a question: Why do you not have time for fan mail. You are paid because we the fans support you. Stop the form letter that is the same as Tex’s letter. Other players respond and sign things…are you to big of a player to sign a ball…you said that you were to busy, it is the offseason and you guys did not even make the post season. Too busy my foot. I am a season ticket holder ans it bothers me when none of the Rangers will sign anything, but the yankees, A’s, Brewers, Astros, and many others will. Maybe I need to find a more fan friendly team.
Stop wasting your time with the Rangers and move on to a contending team. All great competitive men such as yourself aspire to greatness. You will not achieve that or financial security here. Call Pudge Rodriguez and he will let you know what it feels like to get paid and win a World Series
